TORRANCE

Torrance Farm Wind Park Community Fund
This fund is provided by Gresham House, owner of the wind farm in the Torrance Farm Wind Park. The fund was established in 2013 to benefit the North Lanarkshire community council area of Harthill and Eastfield, and the West Lothian community council area of Blackridge. A small settlement called Greenrigg, also in West Lothian, but with historical close links to Harthill and Eastfield also falls within the fund area.
Each year, an index-linked amount based on £36,000 is paid into the fund for the operating life of the wind farm. 75% of the Torrance Wind Farm Community Fund goes into a combined Harthill, Eastfield and Greenrigg (HEG) Fund. The remaining 25% of funds go to the Blackridge community.
The HEG Fund and the Blackridge community each have their own arrangements for distributing funds, with administrative support and oversight from Foundation Scotland.
The funds in both areas support charitable activities which:
- improve peoples’ quality of life
- promote community spirit
- increase opportunities for people to participate in community activity
