Inch Cape Construction Fund announces latest funding awards

The Inch Cape Construction Fund has awarded seven new grants totalling £10,420 to local community organisations in the Prestonpans or Cockenzie & Port Seton community council areas.

The Inch Cape Construction Fund was launched in February 2024 and has already distributed more than £30,000.  The fund supports community projects that help tackle the effects of poverty and inequality while improving the environment and supporting sustainability for residents of the Prestonpans or Cockenzie & Port Seton community council areas.

It also supports charitable activities that contribute to outcomes such as physical and mental well-being, reducing isolation, and increasing access to education and employment opportunities.

One of the awards, for £2000, was to the local Family Service Unit Scotland provision.  The award will contribute to the cost of equipping the Routes Room in Prestonpans Community Centre, facilitating the Grow Your Own Routes programme to support young people aged 12-26 affected by a loved one's substance misuse.
Another awards of £970 was made to Shorelark Arts CIC, which will help them to operate free art workshops aimed at families facing barriers to inclusion, and removing financial obstacles with the hope of improving participants wellbeing.
