Community Climate Champions wanted in the northeast

The Vattenfall Unlock Our Future Fund has three vacancies on the Community Champions’ Panel to help deliver the in Aberdeen City and Shire.

Panel members are volunteers who help make decisions and direct fund strategy, to support community climate action projects in the area. 

The fund makes awards of up to £40,000 to charities and local groups, for projects which take positive action for the climate and also benefit the community. Groups can also apply for small grants up to £2,500

The fund is now in it seventh year and will open again for applications in early 2025. Previous projects supported include funding for efficient heating systems and renewable energy generation for community buildings, the purchase of electric vehicles to deliver valued community services, and support for projects which help people reduce waste and grow their own food. 

The Fund is provided by Vattenfall, who have committed to investing over £150,000 each year to a community benefit scheme for the lifetime of the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC).

Panel members are supported by Foundation Scotland, who administers the fund on behalf of Vattenfall.
